About me
Hi there! I’m Jennifer, a post-graduate Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI) with a passion for supporting individuals through their unique journeys.
I believe in the power of a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you can feel truly heard and understood. My approach is client-centered and integrative, which means I tailor our sessions to fit your individual needs, using a variety of therapeutic techniques to find what works best for you. That’s why I draw from therapeutic approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), strengths-based therapy, and mindfulness techniques—tools that empower you to take charge of your journey towards healing and growth. Creating a safe and welcoming space is at the core of what I do because I believe everyone deserves a place where they can explore their feelings and experiences openly, without fear of judgment.
I specialize in supporting individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges, personality disorders, and individuals facing the unique challenges of military life. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with individuals with chronic health conditions, trauma, self-esteem and body issues, relationships, housing insecurity, and domestic violence. My deep appreciation for cultural diversity allows me to connect with clients from various backgrounds, and I speak both Spanish and English.
I understand that taking the step to seek therapy can be daunting, but I’m here to support you every step of the way. Together, we can work on building resilience, developing effective coping strategies, and ultimately, helping you lead a more fulfilling life. I’m here not just to provide guidance, but to collaborate with you, offering the support and resources you need to thrive. I am committed to providing you with the tools and support necessary to navigate life’s challenges and build resilience. I also believe in the power of continuous learning and am dedicated to expanding my knowledge to better serve my clients.
On a personal note, as a woman and military spouse, I’ve faced my own set of unique challenges which has only deepened my empathy and understanding for others. I am a Tampa native and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Master’s in Social Work. Outside of work, I am happily married and share my life with two wonderful fur babies—a German Shepherd and a Belgian Malinois. I love spending time with my loved ones, diving into a good book (especially fantasy novels!) and going to the beach to relax and recharge.
I look forward to getting to know you! Together, we can navigate this path towards healing and work towards achieving your goals.
